SCMM welcomes any "classic" or "special interest" car. We define these as any car that creates a feeling of nostalgia, stimulates a memory, or fulfills a fantasy. It doesn’t matter if your car is a 2024 or a 1924. If your car fits any of the above, come join us!

I don’t have a special car but I’d like to come to Star City Motor Madness. Where can I park?
Friday:
If you are attending the Friday party at the Virginia Museum of Transportation parking in front of the museum is reserved for displayed vehicles. There is parking for everyone else on nearby streets and at the city parking garage on Salem Avenue.

Saturday: For the Saturday car show there are 3 places to park right near the show:

  • Center-in-the-Square parking garage - 11 Campbell Ave SE

  • Elmwood parking garage - 402 Williamson Rd SE

  • Elmwood Parking lot - 197 Bullitt Ave SE (next to the Elmwood garage)

Where can I park my trailer and tow vehicle?
We have trailer parking for those showing a car on Saturday at the car show in downtown Roanoke. If you will be participating in the party Friday night you will need to park your trailer wherever your accommodations are.

Saturday the show area opens at 8am. Those with trailers may park their trailer and towing vehicle at the Virginia Museum of Transportation, which is a few blocks from the show area. The museum is at 303 Norfolk Avenue. As you face the museum on the far left is a gate that opens into the large parking/storage area of the rail-yard. Beginning at 8:30am there will be someone there to open the gate as trailers arrive. You may retrieve your trailer and towing vehicle after the car show but before 4:30pm.

Where do the proceeds from the events go?
Proceeds go to The Virginia Museum of Transportation and Center-in-the-Square, both of which are based in Roanoke. Additional donations are made to other organizations. The Virginia Museum of Transportation features a diverse collection of America’s transportation history with an impressive collection of railroad "rolling stock.” Stock," including the famous Norfolk and Western J-611 streamlined steam locomotive. With help from Star City Motor Madness, the museum has built an automotive gallery where changing automotive exhibits take place.

How do I rent vendor space?
Vendor space is available Saturday downtown during the car show for a $75 donation. Spaces are 10’ x 20’. On the “Registration” page scroll down to “Vendor Registration” where you can register and pay online or print out a vendor registration form and mail with a check. Helpers are needed on both days for set-up and take-down, parking, registration, and merchandise sales. To volunteer, please send an email to: emails@starcitymotormadness.com

How do I become a sponsor?
We have a wonderful family of sponsors, many of whom have been with us every year since the beginning. We welcome every type of business. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities, please send an email to: emails@starcitymotormadness.com
